weekend will see players from across the state descend on Tathra for competitive, but friendly play.

Tournament promoter Patty McCartney said there will be plenty of interest in the new addition to the event.

“We are running the country v coast trophy, where the players are evenly put into teams depending on their home club.” McCartney said.

Winners of each game earn their team a point.

The winner is decided on points and last year, the title went to the Country side.

“So it will be interesting to see if the coast players can get a few extra points this year to even the score,” McCartney said.

The weekend promises plenty of action for players and spectators alike with fans welcome to head along.

“We’ll have a canteen barbecue that runs all day and has egg and bacon rolls for the early starters,” McCartney said with a laugh.

“And of course there is the beach!”

There will be men’s, women’s and kids competitions at the fully synthetic grass courts.
