BIRMINGHAM'S HOUSEHOLD SUPPORT FUND WILL BE REOPENING LATER THIS MONTH TO DISTRIBUTE THE NEXT ROUND OF CASH 10:27, 03 Jun 2025Updated 10:09, 04 Jun 2025 A new £200 payment to help with
the ongoing cost of living crisis is to be offered to residents in June 2025. The Government extended the Household Support Fund with £742 million of cash shared among local authorities in
England. Birmingham City Council's allocation, which has been delegated to Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) to distribute to local people in need of help, is to reopen for
enquiries in late June. READ MORE: BVSC assesses all the enquiries and contacts those who fit the criteria for a hardship grant payment of £200. Article continues below It says there are
three main criteria. Firstly, you must be a Birmingham resident, and secondly, applicants must be able to demonstrate that their household is experiencing financial hardship, in particular
with covering the costs of food and energy. Thirdly, your household must NOT have previously received a £200 grant payment in the last 12 months. Anyone applying for help may also be asked
to provide proof of their address and of any means-tested benefits they receive. The officials administering the fund pointed out there is no charge to apply and that text messages are not
sent out telling people to provide their bank details. If you're asked to pay an upfront fee or click a link to input financial details, this will be a scam and should be reported to
BVSC. They also warned people against trying to cheat the system to get cash, saying: "The application system actively monitors submitted applications looking for signs of fraud and
details of any attempts to make fraudulent applications and/or fraudulently receive grant funding may be shared with West Midlands Police. "Receiving a grant from this fund will not
impact on any other benefits you may be receiving or may be entitled to. Grant payments are made directly into a bank account in the applicant’s name." Article continues below If you
