A convoy of Uber and Bolt drivers are set to protest for safety and fair pay on Valentine's Day. The private-hire drivers - including Addison Lee staff - will log off from 4pm to 10pm,

to fight for better pay and conditions. Drivers claim that 'unfair pay, rising costs, algorithmic control, trip radar exploitation and dynamic pricing manipulation' are the reasons

behind the protest. They are also demanding an end to "unfair" fixed pricing where drivers are paid the same no matter how long a trip takes, with no extra pay for delays,

detours, or road closures. Drivers also claim they are subject to deactivations without warning or appeal, which has led to their losing their livelihoods overnight. READ MORE: Stratford

Road likened to 'racetrack' as man killed and residents say 'won't walk with my back to it' Private Hire Drivers' Alliance chairperson Minhaj Uddin said:

"Enough is enough. Drivers will not be taken for granted by Uber anymore. "The whole country is coming together, and this is just the beginning." Uber has been approached for

a statement. A Bolt spokesperson said: "We recognise the vital role drivers play in keeping cities moving, and remain committed to ensuring our prices balance the earning needs of

drivers with affordability for passengers. "We are the only operator that enables drivers to set their own minimum pricing and also take advantage of dynamic pricing, where fares are

based on market conditions. "All drivers receive holiday pay and monetary supplements to ensure they earn at least the national living wage, alongside a pension. "Feedback is

important to us, and we continue to engage with drivers directly through surveys, community events, and in-person forums." Simultaneous protests will occur in London, Manchester,

Liverpool, and Leicester. THIS IS A LIVE BLOG AND WILL BE UPDATED
