axed. Wetherspoon's customers are devastated after a "favourite" menu item and accompaniment was axed from menus. Sticky soy sauce has now permanently disappeared from the pub chain's menus,
including in Birmingham boozers.
The Asian-inspired dip was often served with breast bites. One customer took to Redddit and asked if anyone knew where the sauce had gone, adding they would be "devastated" if it was axed.
Another person said: "Not very happy about it but its gone. So good with breast bites." A spokesperson said: “ The company reviews its menus regularly and on occasion, some items will be
taken off. This is the case with the sticky soy sauce."

“We appreciate that some customers will be disappointed and apologise to them.” Helpfully, Reddit users have rushed to the platform to share details over how to make the sauce for yourself
when you are at home.

sauce 40g dark soft brown sugar 20g ginger purée 20g rice vinegar Table spoon sesame oil (optional) 5g cornflour.
"Mix together and heat in a pan on medium to high heat for 5-10mins until thickened." A second said: "guys this is the one i just made it and it’s nearly perfect !!! i added 5g extra ginger
and used white wine vinegar instead of rice vinegar but think they do the same thing :)"
"I disagree. Sticky soy differs in many ways from kecap manis to me. I thought the same at first then tried em both together and the manis just has the earthy part missing," another wrote on
Reddit.

the allergy menu board in spoons and it lists everything in it."
Another posted: "Bit late to the chat but the Ingredients on the website are : White Sugar, Water, Light SOY Sauce, Light SOY Sauce (Water, SOYABEANS, WHEAT, Salt, Alcohol (ethanol), Water,
Sugar, Salt), White Wine (SULPHITES), Ginger Puree, Modified Maize Starch, Spring Onion."
"I've gotten pretty close, main ingredient is obviously soy sauce, mix that with honey and a but of toasted sesame oil and that's a fantastic start. Can add corn starch or whatever to
thicken it. Not sure if their one uses honey, or something like corn syrup instead, might be worth a try," another said.
