An 'ageing' industrial site in Salford is poised for a transformation into a regional headquarters for food distribution firm Bidfood. The company has unveiled plans to construct a
new distribution centre on Langley Road in Pendleton, Salford. The proposed 63,000 square metre space, on the west side of Langley Road, could serve as a storage and dispatch hub for the
company's products, which are distributed across the UK. Bidfood says it supplies over 10,000 products to 45,000 customers in sectors including hospitality, care homes, schools,
hospitals, and universities. The development plans include a temperature-controlled warehouse, office spaces, and a car park with capacity for 275 vehicles. A second plot in the south-east
corner of the land has been designated by the company for additional warehouses. Currently, the area houses 'ageing industrial units' set for demolition, along with an existing
Bidfood facility that will be razed to make room for the new development. The site is a stone's throw from the A6 with direct links to Salford and Manchester city centres, and the M60
motorway nearby. This comes amidst major regeneration efforts in Salford, with new offices and residences being constructed as part of the city's modernisation plans. DON'T MISS
