MAN PRONOUNCED DEAD FOLLOWING A19 COLLISION A man has been pronounced dead at the scene of the A19 collision, police have confirmed. Durham Constabulary were called to the northbound
carriageway, near Castle Eden, just after 6.45am this morning, where a Land Rover and a lorry had collided. The driver of the Land Rover, a 42-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and
despite the best efforts of the emergency services, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been notified.
