been revealed how much Newcastle United have in the bank ahead of the summer transfer window. The Magpies will be eager build on their Carabao Cup success and welcome some new faces to St.
James' Park.
By also securing qualification to the UEFA Champions League, Eddie Howe has the most valuable bargaining chip in football. Tyneside has suddenly become a far more attractive destination for
Europe's top players, so the club must spend their new-found riches wisely.
Speaking to reporters following Newcastle's defeat to Everton on the final day of the season, Howe predicted a 'big transfer window'. The Magpies boss said: "Difficult to say on numbers,
but I do think it's a window that we have to be active in and I'm sure we will be.
"We haven't recruited strongly in three windows and I think eventually, that can catch up with you in the end if you continue not to change because change is an important part of the squad
dynamic."
Howe added: "I think we feel that and I think we potentially felt that last summer as well, so I think that's why the players have done so well to carry the success through. Yes, it is going
to be a big transfer window."
Bruno Guimarães also expects Newcastle to splash the cash this summer, having been left 'little bit short' on occasions due to injuries. Sharing Howe's sentiment, the Magpies midfielder
said: "We have improved a lot, but I think we're not at the level that I want.

played in the Champions League, we lost some players for injury and then it was busy for us.
"I think we can improve our level because next year, our season will have one more competition."
According to the MailOnline, Newcastle are expected to fork out £100m on signings this summer. The report claims that Howe wants a goalkeeper, centre back and a forward.
It's said that James Trafford is viewed as the 'number one pick' between the sticks, with the Magpies 'anticipated' to make an offer. The MailOnline add that Marc Guehi and Bryan Mbeumo
are also on Newcastle's shortlist after missing out on Dean Huijsen, who joined Real Madrid, and Matheus Cunha, who looks Manchester United-bound.
The Magpies enjoyed talks with Ipswich Town regarding the potential transfer of Liam Delap, but Chelsea have been described as 'favourites' to sign the 22-year-old striker. While Howe
anticipates a 'big transfer window', he wants to wrap up business 'very quickly'.
"Speed is key for us and I have reiterated that many times internally," said Howe on Sunday afternoon. "We have to be ready to conclude things very quickly because good players don’t hang
around for long.

again. We will do our best to do things early.
"The power of the Champions League is huge. It’s a selling point for us now, it’s an opportunity to sell that dream to future players that might be considering coming to us."
