THE SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS AND NUFC ARE HOPING TO BE BUSY 16:00, 01 Jun 2025 The transfer window is open and Newcastle United are looking to be active in the first
weeks. The Club World Cup means an early start to summer trading, although this initial window will only last until June 10, before reopening on Monday, June 16. The Magpies should not have
too many PSR concerns to fear this summer, but will have to still have the June 30 assessment date in mind, although that does not mean they can't spend before then. Eddie Howe has
spoken about wanting to act quickly this summer, and there are several deals which could be done over the coming 10 days. United have done their scouting but what remains now is the thorny
issues of transfer negotiations with both clubs and players - and their representatives. Newcastle know who they want, but whether they can agree a price they want to pay remains to be seen.
However, confidence is high that this summer will see significant change in the United squad - here are some of the deals which could happen in the coming days. MARC GUEHI We've been
here before haven't we? United spent much of last summer in negotiations for England defender Guehi, but ultimately wouldn't pay Crystal Palace's asking price. This time feels
different, with the 24-year-old out of contract next summer and the Eagles potentially resigned to losing him. The pricetag will likely come down, although Newcastle will still need to fork
out in the region of £50m to get their long-term target. Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested, highlighting Howe's wish to act quickly before it turns into a bidding war. BRYAN
MBEUMO Brentford boss Thomas Frank insists it will take a big bid to persuade the Bees to part company with winger Bryan Mbuemo, but that is exactly what Newcastle are thought to have lined
up. The 25-year-old has proven his credentials beyond doubt with another sensational season at Brentford, and he ticks plenty of boxes for United. Again, expect interest from elsewhere, but
with Mbeumo a long-time target for United, they are ready to act. Article continues below JAMES TRAFFORD With Barcelona closing in on a deal for Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, Newcastle
will again turn their focus on Burnley shot-stopper James Trafford. Scott Parker does not want him to leave, but the Clarets are reportedly in talks with Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir
as they prepare for the England Under-21 star's departure. The asking price could be the issue here, with Burnley able to command a bigger fee following promotion back to the Premier
League. Parker will want to seriously strengthen his squad so will not allow Trafford to leave for anything less than the £30m mark. DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN The striker may not be able to
become a United player until July 1 when his Everton contract expires, but there is nothing to stop Newcastle or any club agreeing a deal, as United did with Lloyd Kelly last summer. Whether
Eddie Howe still retains in an interest in the former England striker is another matter. They were keen 12 months ago but opted not to follow up initial enquiries after learning
Everton's demands, but the player will leave Merseyside on a free this summer and is keen to remain in the Premier League. With back-up options for Alexander Isak hard to find,
Calvert-Lewin may be seen as an easy fit, although his injury record would cause some concerns. SEAN LONGSTAFF It's not just incoming deals which could happen quickly, with any transfer
free received likely to go straight back into the kitty for the coming months. Howe does not want to lose many of his squad, with the plain fact remaining that United will need to replace
most, if not all, of the players they sell. Longstaff has struggled for gametime in the second half of the season and has interest from Premier League new boys Leeds United, as well as
Everton. An experienced Premier League player, United will want to received a sizeable fee for his services, should they decide to sell, with an early deal ensuirng they can act quickly on
new signings. CALLUM WILSON The United No 9 has been outstanding in his time on Tyneside, but looks set for a new challenge after slipping down the pecking order at St James' Park.
Wilson will have no shortage of interested parties when his contract expires and he can leave United on a free, with Championship new boys Wrexham one of many clubs keen on a deal. His
Premier League days may not be over, though, with Leeds another who could make their move. One thing for certain is that he won't be a free agent for long, although cannot officially
sign elsewhere until July 1. ODYSSEAS VLACHODIMOS The £20m deal to bring the Greek goalkeeper to Newcastle was a complicated one, but it has not worked out for neither club nor player.
Vlachodimos has played just 45 minutes of football for United - a second-half display against AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup - and must surely leave this summer after failing to make the
bench for the majority of the campaign. Article continues below There has been talk of a loan deal which doesn't appear to off United much in the way of financial benefits, but he
remains a prime candidate to get off the books at the earliest opportunity.
