APPEAL COURT SAYS OUR BODY EXHIBITION IS ILLEGAL AND AN AFFRONT TO “RESPECT, DIGNITY AND DECENCY” FRANCE has banned the controversial Our Body, à Corps Ouvert exhibition that displays human

bodies stripped of their skin. The appeal court Cour de Cassation confirmed the ban, saying that the display of bodies for commercial ends was against the Code Civil, which states that human

remains should be treated with “respect, dignity and decency”. Two protest groups have been fighting to get the exhibition banned for the past two years, since it was first held in Lyon in

2008. It is not currently in France. France is the first country to ban the exhibition, which has been seen by 30 million people worldwide.
