HEROIC CREWS BATTLED THROUGH THE NIGHT TO SAVE A WALKER WHO VANISHED ON THE FIVE SISTERS OF KINTAIL IN THE HIGHLANDS. 19:06, 20 Feb 2025Updated 15:12, 21 Feb 2025 An injured walker was
rescued from a Scots mountain range during a complex near 10 hour SOS mission in extreme conditions. Heroic crews battled through the night to save a woman who vanished on the Five Sisters
of Kintail in the Highlands. A complex operation saw Mountain Rescue Teams and a Coastguard Rescue helicopter all scrambled to the scene. The alarm was raised on Wednesday at 4.30pm to
reports of a possible missing female walker, who was part of a group of two experienced walkers. Kintail Mountain Recue crews immediately assembled a number of search parties to try and
locate her. The eagle-eyed rescue chopper team, deployed from Prestwick, nearly 200 miles away, was able to locate the casualty on the south side of the ridge in very steep and dangerous
ground. Kintail Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) have told how the search quickly turned into an emergency rescue mission - with extremely high winds and deteriorating weather stopping the
helicopter from being able to help. Article continues below Brave teams constructed a rigging system to haul the woman to safer ground. The MRT's medic was able to treat her for
injuries to her head and arm sustained during a fall. The teams were able to assist her off the hillside to waiting vehicles. The steep and slippy terrain, combined with the poor weather,
made the descent difficult and protracted. Everybody involved safely returned to the base in Morvich by around 6am on Thursday morning. The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness
by the Scottish Ambulance Service. JOIN THE DAILY RECORD WHATSAPP COMMUNITY! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive
