THE DRIVER AND VEHICLE STANDARDS AGENCY (DVSA) HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR FORD, TOYOTA AND AUDI CARS OVER FEARS OF CRASHES, FIRES AND VISIBILITY 10:34, 02 Jun 2025Updated 10:34, 02 Jun 2025 A
significant alert has been issued for millions of motorists who own a Ford, Toyota or Audi vehicle. Drivers of popular Ford models are being affected by a recall, as well as those with
Toyota and Audi vehicles. Ford is recalling nearly 1.1 million vehicles in the United States due to a software glitch that may cause rearview cameras to fail to display images, heightening
the risk of an accident. The recall affects certain 2021 through 2024 model year Bronco, F-150, Edge, and 2023-2024 Escape, Corsair, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 vehicles, the car
manufacturer announced on Wednesday in a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall also impacts the 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023
Mach-E, Lincoln Nautilus, 2024 Ranger, Mustang and the 2022-2024 Navigator. Article continues below FORD The NHTSA stated that the software issue could cause the rearview camera image to
delay, freeze, or not display. Ford acknowledged one allegation of a minor crash resulting in property damage linked to the problem. In January, the NHTSA contacted Ford regarding
allegations of more than three dozen rear-view camera complaints on 2021-2023 Ford F-150 vehicles. TOYOTA Toyota is recalling more than 443,000 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid trucks from model
years 2022 to 2025 due to a defect that could cause the reverse lights to stop functioning, posing a potential safety hazard. In a document submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA), the car manufacturer has detailed that a multi-layer vent patch in their trucks' reverse lamp assemblies might degrade over time due to thermal cycling. This
could let moisture creep into the assembly, which can lead to the circuit board, connector, or wiring harness getting corroded and eventually cause the reverse lights to pack up. Without
working reverse lights, drivers might struggle with poor rear visibility when it's dark, and other road users may not clock when the truck is reversing. AUDI A staggering 89,417 cars
are tangled up in an Audi recall. The NHTSA reports that the trouble starts in the engine bay. "The screws can loosen, allowing oil to leak and increasing the risk of a fire."
Article continues below Volkswagen Group's recall notice said that the screws might've been "improperly tightened" during assembly. Audi has said: "Over time, the
cylinder head cover screw(s) may loosen." If engine oil starts to drip, it can build up residue unnoticed. And if the exhaust heats this enough, it could go up in flames and "a
fire could occur."
