WIRED COLUMN: DANIEL BEDINGFIELD ON WHY HE'S A RELUCTANT POPSTAR, LITTLE MIX JADE HITS OUT AT JK ROWLING AND LIAM GALLAGHER HAS SOME SAGE WORDS SAM MAYERS 21:51, 01 Jun 2025Updated

10:16, 03 Jun 2025 Miley Cyrus insisted she’s happy for her dad Billy Ray and his new partner Elizabeth Hurley. The pair recently made their public appearance together in Rome. Miley, 32,

also spoke about her parents’ split and revealed she’s not “overly passionate” about becoming a mum herself. On The Interview podcast from The New York Times, Miley also said she worries

about her pop peer Sabrina Carpenter. For the past year the singer has been dominating charts and touring the world. Miley, who became a star as a teen, said: “I’ve been doing very

consistent therapy since I was 17 or 18 years old, so I think I’ve cleared up a lot of the feelings that I had about being a child star, and now I don’t notice it so much because I don’t

notice it in me. Article continues below “I guess the only thing I notice is when people are working too hard. I met Sabrina Carpenter a couple of times, and every time I see her I have the

urge to ask her if she’s OK. “I know what it feels like to fry yourself, and I don’t want anyone else to get fried.” BEDINGFIELD HAD TO GET 'THRU BEING A POP STAR' Daniel

Bedingfield says he isn’t built for the popstar lifestyle. The Gotta Get thru This hitmaker admitted his autism makes it hard for him to live in the spotlight which is why he disappeared for

years. Daniel, who performed at Mighty Hoopla said: “I am really glad that I did it but actually being in the spotlight is a lot for an autistic kid, it is a lot of information, it is a lot

of people wanting lots of things. “I think I was quite overstimulated for most of it, yes I pulled myself together and got it done as it was I was dreaming of for most of my life but it was

a lot.. “I was not enjoying the famous aspect but deeply deeply enjoying being on stage.” These days Daniel enjoys getting on stage but hasn’t recorded an album in twenty years as he

prefers to retreat back to his safe place in America. “I think going back and forth between doing concerts and farming and trying to save the planet is kind of an exciting life now to be

honest”, he smiled. He believes America takes mental health more seriously: “I am really grateful to America as I remember growing up in Britain it was like ‘oh mental health is whatever’

you gotta just carry on so I am so grateful for that change. “And perhaps people can be a little more gracious, I know a lot of sensitive popstars right now and they’ve had to build these

massive walls and massive gated communities to keep them safe, that’s in England and only in England, in America they don't seem to be having such a hard time.” He doesn’t regret the

fame though, adding: “I would make the same choice again to build something and then go to America!” The New Zealand born star performs at Alex James' Big Feastival in August. JADE

HOWLING AT ROWLING Jade Thirlwall led the Mighty Hoopla crowd in an anti JK Rowling chant. During her solo set on the main stage the former Little Mixer started the crowd off by chanting

“transphobes” which prompted them chanting back “f*** you”. And she later changed the prompt to “J.K Rowling” with them audience passionately again replying “f*** you”. The chant comes after

J.K Rowling has caused upset amongst the LGBTQ+ community several times. Jade’s performance was a festival highlight from the weekend as she performed all five of her solo songs plus a

sprinkling of Little Mix hits. Liam Gallagher has branded Taylor Swift as “needy” for buying back the rights to her first six albums. LIAM SAYS 'IT'S ALL A BIT NEEDY' During a

Q&A session with his followers the Oasis man was asked what he thinks of the popstar purchasing back the rights to her music. And Liam risked upsetting the Swifties by replying “It’s

all a bit NEEDY”. Article continues below He was also asked if he'll bring back his signature mod haircut for the upcoming Oasis shows but said he’s more “clean cut” these days.
