A man has claimed that the police are "searching in the wrong place" as the search for Madeleine McCann enters its third day in Portugal. The man in question claims to have been
close to prime suspect Christian Brueckner, who is currently under investigation for the disappearance of Madeleine. Ken Ralphs told GB News the accomplice had "started to cry" one
night and confessed "he was going to get involved with Christian to take a child in Praia de Luz". Mr Ralphs said that there was a "property and a house" which was used
by the German before returning to his homeland. It is there that he believes the police should be focussing their attention, rather than their current location. German police have begun the
latest search for Madeleine McCann, 18 years after the British toddler disappeared. Teams armed with shovels are currently sweeping the area between Praia da Luz – where Madeleine went
missing in 2007 – and the holiday home where chief suspect Brueckner used to live. The search commenced earlier this week when German detectives held a briefing with Portuguese authorities
lasting around 15 minutes. Then search teams seen holding shovels and hard hats could be seen headed inland away from the tents. Police have not revealed what new evidence or development has
sparked this search but reports suggest: “German cops know it is now or never.” However, Brueckner has previously bragged that he can’t wait to walk free – and tuck into a “proper steak
with a beer”. Brüeckner claimed he was wrongly convicted of the rape of a 72-year-old woman in nearby Praia da Luz the year before. He is due for release later this year, but police are
working against the clock to see if he was also responsible for the disappearance of Madeleine. Madeleine first went missing in 2007 from her family's holiday apartment in Rua Dr
Agostinho da Silva, Praia da Luz, a resort in the Algarve region of Portugal. At the time, she was on holiday with her parents Kate and Gerry McCann and younger siblings, twins Sean and
Amelie. She vanished on the penultimate day of their holiday of seven-night break at the two-bedroom ground-floor apartment. Currently investigations are looking in the area, including in
abandoned farmhouses and ground that has not been used for years due to its harsh condition. Underground radar machines and diggers are being deployed to see if they can find any evidence.
