with a nearly severed arm. Police were quick to swoop on the venue on Mackadown Lane in Kitts Green just before 3pm on Friday, following reports of fighting in the arcade section. Armed
officers and and paramedics raced to the scene, where one man was found with serious stab injuries. Shocked witnesses described scenes of total chaos inside. One person posted online: “We
were there and a lad nearly had his arm chopped off with a machete. I’ll be surprised if it’s open tonight as it’s got to be a crime scene now.” Another added: “Machete attack at BJ’s Bingo,
my mom and sister were locked in with other players. One taken to hospital, couple arrested.” The popular bingo hall was quickly cordoned off as officers secured the scene. Elderly
customers were spotted waiting outside, unable to leave while police carried out their investigation. Article continues below West Midlands Police later confirmed five arrests had been made.
A spokesperson said: “We’ve arrested five people following disorder in Mackadown Lane, Birmingham, this afternoon. We were called to reports of fighting at around 2.50pm and a man was
discovered with stab wounds. He has been taken to hospital for his injuries to be assessed. We’re in the early stages of our enquiries but five have been detained on suspicion of violent
disorder.” The force urged anyone with information to come forward by using Live Chat on their website or calling 101, quoting reference 2688 of 31/5/25. BJ’s Bingo announced it would remain
closed for the night, saying: “Due to an ongoing police investigation following an incident earlier today, BJ’s Bingo Kitts Green will be closed this evening. Article continues below Our
