aitana’ by dutch architects ben loerakker and jan bakers from bakers architecten, in collaboration with spanish interior designer tomas alia HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR THE SPANISH HOTEL CHAIN.


the self-acclaimed ‘un-dutch’ project by the architects is part of the IJ dock complex in amsterdam – a collection of different buildings assembled together. offering international allure,


the hotel provides spanish customs and hospitality with breakfast served until noon, an outdoor café and restaurant and bar to keep guests entertained. the heavy, geometric mass appears to


have pieces removed from its volume, giving a sculptural quality to its form. the seemingly random shapes cover 13 storeys and contain 282 light, spacious rooms and suites. [embedded
