Gaddafi's body has been on public display in a cold storage container in Misurata alongside another son Mutassim since they were all killed in Sirte on Thursday. The body of Colonel
Muammar Gaddafi will be buried today in a "simple" ceremony at an unknown location in the desert, the country's interim leaders have announced. "He will be buried in a
simple burial with sheikhs attending the burial. It will be an unknown location in the open desert," _The Telegraph_ quoted a National Transitional Council (NTC) official, as saying.
"No agreement was reached for his tribe to take him," he said, adding that the decomposition of the body had reached the point where the "corpse cannot last longer". On
being asked if Mutassim would be buried in the same ceremony, the official said: "Yes." Gaddafi's body has been on public display in a cold storage container in Misurata
alongside another son Mutassim since they were all killed in Sirte on Thursday. Meanwhile, another unnamed NTC official has claimed that Gaddafi’s eldest son Saif al-Islam is near
Libya's borders with Niger and Algeria and planning to flee the country using a forged passport.
