As the face of the company, which produces a fifth of the world’s emeralds from its Kagem mine in Zambia, Mila, 30, has worn its jewellery at a series of fi lm events.
Her contribution has helped raise the profile of Gemfields, which has also benefited from a rise in emerald prices, up from £32 per per carat last July to £35.50 last month.
Gemfields saw revenues more than double to £39million in the six months to the end of December. Profits dipped eight per cent to £11million due to marketing costs.
Sales at Faberge, which it bought in January 2013, jumped by 89 per cent in December. It installed Robert Benvenuto, from rival Harry Winston, as president last October.
Group chief executive Ian Harebottle said it was accelerating growth as a leading gemstone producer, marketer and retailer.
