Personal Independence Payment is a benefit given to eligible persons in the UK aimed at helping them with everyday life. Specific illnesses, disabilities and mental health conditions are
deemed eligible for this payment. But is anxiety an eligible condition for which you can claim PIP?
PIP is a monetary sum given to those suffering from certain illnesses, disabilities and mental health conditions.
The payment is intended to assist with extra costs if they face long-term ill-health.
From March 17, 2020, claimants will no longer be required to undertake face-to-face assessments due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The assessment provider will instead undertake a paper-based assessment or carry one out over the phone.

For those making a new claim, no award is given without an assessment.
If your condition significantly deteriorates you may be entitled to a higher rate of PIP.
If this happens, you should request a review to ensure you receive the maximum arrears for your circumstances.
If your PIP is due to expire, you will continue to be paid your current rate.
