of us. Express.co.uk chatted to Lucie Marchelot Shukla, Co-Founder of Instant Dentist & Straight Teeth Direct and London-based dentist Dr Kamala Aydazadato to find out how to whiten
your teeth with baking soda if it’s safe to do so. No one’s teeth are pure white, it’s normal for your teeth to be slightly yellow. Lucie explained: “Teeth are made of two layers, the enamel
which is more white and the dentine underneath which is more yellow/cream in colour. “When teeth have healthy thick enamel they look whiter and following enamel erosion the dentine
underneath becomes more exposed, making the teeth appear more yellow. “This is the main reason for healthy teeth to become yellow as part of the normal ageing process.” READ MORE- HOW TO
CLEAN BURNT POTS AND PANS - THREE TOP TIPS If you still want to try baking soda to whiten your teeth you should mix a tablespoon of it with some water to make a paste. Brush the mixture on
your teeth with a soft brush or your finger for two minutes. Spit it out and rinse your mouth with water. Don’t go overboard with this hack, only do this once every so often - definitely
don’t try it more than once a week.
