‘Will we ever get post again?’ Royal Mail warns of further delays - 91 postcodes affected

Play all audios:

Over the past few weeks, Royal Mail has been experiencing delays to its postal service. While the company is doing its best to clear the backlog, as of today, Monday 17 January, there are

still several postcodes across the UK which are affected and are waiting for their post to be delivered. Here is the latest update.

Over the weekend, the air and rail network “operated to schedule” but the road network experienced delays.

The official website explains: “On Sunday, some mail scheduled to arrive at our National Distribution Centre from Belfast Mail Centre was delayed, due to an issue with the trailer on the

vehicle.

“This meant that some mail posted in the BT postcode area on Saturday due for delivery today in other parts of the UK, may arrive later than planned.

“Also on Sunday, mail scheduled to arrive at our National Distribution Centre from Chester, Preston and Warrington Mail Centres arrived at the North West Hub, after being diverted.

“This meant that not all mail could be processed to schedule.

“As a result, some mail posted on Saturday in the CH, LL, SY, BB, FY, LA, PR, CW, L, WA and WN postcode areas due for delivery today in other parts of the UK, may arrive later than planned,”

the statement read.

There are also a couple of mail centres that have not processed or despatched all mail to schedule over the last 24 hours.
