Nicola Sturgeon announced her plans for a fresh independence vote some time between autumn 2018 and spring 2019. Scottish voters have rallied around the First Minister in the past, but has
she won the MSPs over this time? Body language expert Darren Stanton exclusively commented on Ms Sturgeon’s body language to Express.co.uk. Darren claims of all the politicians “Sturgeon is
so open and honest about what she says and believes, you just can’t help but see someone that speaks her mind.” In the pictures, in which Sturgeon wears a bright red jacket, Darren says the
First Minister shows openness. In one image Ms Sturgeon places her index finger on the table. “This is something you might see a parent do with a child,” Darren said. “It shows great power
and conviction and confidence.” Another image shows Sturgeon in a similar position - but with her finger raised. This betrays the politician’s passion, according to Darren. “So we see a
watered down version of the finger point which has become a clenched fist with the thumb placed on top,” he explained. “Many politicians point with the thumb, this is as a result of media
training. “However Sturgeon shows her willingness to almost get her hands dirty for what she believes to be the right thing for Scotland.” In other images the First Minister of Scotland
gesticulates with her hands and fingers spread wide. “This demonstrates she is passionate about what she is saying and the gesture signifies strength and conviction,” Darren explains. Darren
also recently explained who had the upper hand in the recent meeting between Angela Merkel and Donald Trump.
