There was a “marked difference” between Princess Kate and Meghan Markle during their first ever meeting, according to Prince Harry. Writing in his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex goes into

detail about the 'Fab Four' meet up in 2016 at Nottingham Cottage, where Harry and Meghan would settle. Harry described how they all chatted about Wimbledon and the legal drama

Suits, in which Meghan played paralegal Rachel Zane. He recalled noticing a "discordant note" between the pair amid the friendliness of the first encounter. The Duke writes:

"The only possibly discordant note I could think of was the marked difference in how the two women dressed, which both of them seemed to notice. Meg: ripped jeans, barefoot. Kate: done

up to the nines. No big deal, I thought." Meghan also recalled differences in her first moments with Kate, speaking about the moment in episode two of the six-part Harry & Meghan

docuseries on Netflix. She said: "When Will and Kate came over, and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner, I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. "I

was a hugger. I've always been a hugger, I didn't realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits. "I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on

the outside carried through on the inside. "There is a forward-facing way of being, and then you close the door and go 'You can relax now', but that formality carries over on

both sides. "And that was surprising to me." Spare, released in January this year, became the fastest selling non-fiction book of all time, with 1.43 million copies shifted during

its first day on sale in the UK, US, and Canada. FOLLOW OUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS HERE ON HTTPS://WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/EXPRESSUSNEWS AND @EXPRESSUSNEWS
