The campaign was established by Dutch Londoner Annamarie Plas, who organised the weekly applause when she saw her home country doing the same. According to the website, she wanted to
"show her appreciation for all the key workers", and the rest of the country has followed suit. Amongst those paying their respect to frontline workers are several famous figures,
who have recorded themselves or their loved ones cheering on NHS staff. The Cambridge family, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined in last week, as did the
