The bomb was hidden in a bin in the Thai capital and it exploded around 8pm local time. Two employees of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration were injured and sent to Vajira Hospital.
The explosion happened on Ratchademneon Avenue in Bangkok. The police have described the explosive to be a ‘ping pong bomb’, which was detonated by low-yield gunpowder. The bomb exploded on
the eve of Thailand’s enactment of the new constitution, which is a public holiday. Disposal officials and police were at the scene and reportedly discovered another homemade bomb in a bin
in the area. Ratchadamnoen Avenue is a historic road in the Phra Nakhol and Dust Districts of Bangkok. The king used the road as a route for grand royal parades. Dan Fieller, a British
Diplomat in Bangkok, wrote on Twitter: “Too early to say what this is in #Bangkok. Of course tomorrow is Chakri Day & the day that #Thailand's Constitution should be promulgated.”
