Warren (played by Martin Clunes) returned to his job as a driving instructor after being arrested at the end of last week’s edition of the BBC sitcom after he falsely identified as a robber.
Among his troubles with his wife Anne’s (Lisa Millett) teenager sons Charlie (Tim Preston) and Danny (Oscar Moragn), Warren was also facing stiff competition from his driving instructor
rival Daz (Marcus Garvey). As the number of pupils he had began to drop rapidly as they turned to Daz to teach them, Warren was faced with the fact he could lose a considerable amount of
income. Though when he was out with his wife later on in the episode, Warren found himself labelled as a cat killer when the owners of the deceased pet believed the driving instructor had
run the feline over. Anne was apologetic to the young girl and her mother as the distraught owners burst into tears, offering to pay for a new cat as a replacement. Warren was reluctant
however to accept any blame, but viewers took to social media to bring to attention the characters would not need to buy a cat. Taking to Twitter, one viewer posted: “#warren you don't
have to pay for a cat. There are many strays needing a good home. Try RSPCA etc.” Another explained: “You don't have to buy a new cat. You can adopt them for free from reputable
breeders. They say free to a good home. #Warren.” Whilst a third questioned: “Can you actually still buy cats from pet shops? #warren,” referring to Anne’s offer. However, others were in awe
of the cat killer storyline, with a fourth opining: “#Warren I do like the Cat Killer plot thread.” A fifth commented: “#Warren I do think this episode has got better over time, developing
the cat killer story quite well - better than last week.” However, the couple did end up buying a cat but became unwilling owners of the feline themselves as the devastated owners of the
original cat didn’t want to have a pet from a cat killer. By the end of the episode, Warren’s luck regarding his number of pupils began to change as his competitor Daz was run over by an
elderly neighbour, leaving him hospitalised and his pupils flocking to Warren’s driving school. Last week’s first instalment of the sitcom divided viewers and tonight, audiences were still
unsure over their opinion of the Martin Clunes comedy. One viewer posted on Twitter: “I’ve alway been a massive @MartinClunesTV fan but #Warren just makes for uncomfortable viewing!
#notfunny.” Another added: “Not sure about #Warren. It's a bit uneven in tone between the characters. The chase sequence was a mis-step for me. The final gag with Daz was surprisingly
brutal.” However, others were in awe of the sitcom, with one viewer stating: “Starting off stronger this week. If you keep #Warren about Warren and no side stories, it may go the distance. A
second remarked: “Brilliant comedy! This is going to go down as a cult classic in the future. You have to love #Warren ‘s customer service. @MartinClunesTV.” Whilst a third admitted:
“#warren is my new guilty pleasure. So bad, it is great!” and a fourth remarking: “I loved tonight’s episode. Laugh out loud comedy. #warren.” Next week’s episode will see Warren discover
his brother-in-law’s hidden talents, deciding to exploit them for cash. _WARREN CONTINUES MONDAY AT 9PM ON BBC ONE._
