Former Change UK MP Anna Soubry clashed with Piers Morgan as the two debated Britain's membership of the single market and the EU. At the time a Conservative, Mrs Soubry argued that

Britain should remain in the bloc's market as well as the customs union. Mrs Soubry, a staunch supporter of EU membership, said in June 2018: “I get a bit pickled off being labelled a

‘Remainer’. “I’ve accepted we’re leaving the European Union. Now I want the best deal for my constituents and the businesses that come and talk to me. “What they want is to be in the customs

union - a customs union, call it what you want - so they get frictionless trade and to be a member of the single market so we get the regulatory alignment that everybody talks about. “The

problem is, nobody’s come up with a third way.” But Piers hit back with a furious response, claiming that her preferred resolution "isn't Brexit". The GMB host said: “You say

you accept the result of the referendum, but what you’ve just said is that you want to be a member of the customs union and the free market. “That’s not Brexit. “The British Prime Minister

David Cameron, a week before the election, made a speech to the people of this country and said, ‘let me make this very clear - it involves leaving the single market and there will be no

more votes.’” The two would clash on GMB yet again in October of the same year. In October 2018, Mrs Soubry returned to debate the issue of the Irish border, claiming that it meant Brexit

could not be done. She said: “What’s the solution? There isn’t a solution. The truth is, you can’t do Brexit. READ MORE:PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: THIS MORNING STAR ADDRESSES PIERS MORGAN'S GAY

JOKE Mrs Soubry replied: “What’s the solution? It’s a huge problem. Even Theresa [May], before the referendum, said that if we left the European Union we would have a real problem with the

free movement of people across the border. “In the real world, on the island of Ireland, goods and people move across it in exactly the same way.” Prime Minister Boris Johnson went on to

find a solution for the Irish border as his withdrawal agreement was passed, leaving Northern Ireland in a customs union with the EU. This solution infuriated Northern Ireland’s First

Minister Arlene Foster however, as she described it as a betrayal.
