Queen of the South season four was released on Netflix UK recently. There were 13 episodes in total of the gritty crime drama, which are streaming on the platform now. The show has already


aired in America on the USA Network last year. 


Season four was broadcast weekly on the USA network in 2019 between June and August before wrapping up.


The USA Network gave season five the green light in August 2019 after the fourth outing completed transmission in America.


The American broadcaster confirmed the news on its website and filming was taking place.


However, production on season five was shut down in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Deadline reported.

Going by previous premiere dates, Queen of the South was expected to be debuting soon but this is no longer the case as filming hadn’t finished when production was halted.


There’s no certainty when production will be resuming and when season five will be airing.


Like most other films and TV shows, fans are going to simply have to watch this space for now.

Alice Braga will be reprising her role as reluctant drug dealer and queenpin Teresa Mendoza.


Prior to the role, the Brazilian actress has starred in Will Smith's sci-fi film I Am Legend and City of God.


Her other credits include Lower City, The Milky Way and By Way of Helena – the latter of which saw her star opposite Woody Harrelson and Liam Hemsworth.

Hemky Madera returns as Pote Galvez, who was once right-hand man to Doña Camila Vargas (Veronica Falcón).


Madera has appeared in TV series Grandes Series Dominicanas and En La Olla.


While he may portray the hard man in Queen of the South, he's also known for his more comedic turns in Los Electrolocos and Ciudad Nueva.


David Andrews has a big role in season four as Judge Cecil Lafayette, who could be Teresa's biggest foe yet.


Andrews has starred in Shooter, House of Cards, Scandal and Justified while film roles include Terminator 3 and World War Z.

Alimi Ballard takes on the role of slick nightclub owner in New Orleans Marcel Dumas.


Ballard's other acting credits include Numb3rs, Queen Sugar and The Catch as well as parts in Last Night In Old City with Nicholas Cage.


In the role of trouble musician Eddie Brucks, who comes across Teresa, is Bailey Chase.


The star has featured in Saving Grace, Chicago P.D., Twin Peaks and 24: Legacy.


Other cast members in Queen of the South season four are Alfonso Herrera as Javier Jimenez, Molly Burnett as Kelly Anne Van Awken, Ryan O'Nan as King George, Joseph T. Campos as Boaz Jimenez


and Justina Machado as Brenda Parra.
