Coverage of the Olympics from Tokyo, Japan will begin on Friday, July 23, 2021, as the opening ceremony will air from 11:20am. Therefore, the last edition of BBC Breakfast will also
broadcast the same morning before Louise and several of her other co-stars, including Charlie Stayt, 59, and Naga Munchetty, 46, also take a break from their roles. This will be one of the
last hiatuses Louise will take before making her final departure from her role in the Autumn. During an appearance on the sofa in June, the journalist opened up on why it was now time for
her to take a step back from presenting.
