That's according to Pacquaio's long-time trainer Freddie Roach. Pacquaio hasn't fought since his unanimous decision win over Adrien Broner back in January. Typically, a
rematch with Floyd Mayweather has been mooted, but the undefeated fighter has brushed off claims that a fight between the two will happen again. Garcia, who was undefeated in his career
until his recent blowout loss to welterweight Errol Spence Jr, is the current WBC lightweight champion. Pacquaio, a record eight-division world champion, hasn't fought at welterweight
since a TKO win over David Diaz in 2008. After Spence beat Garcia, the Texas-born fighter called out Pacquaio, who got in the ring to reluctantly greet Spence. Many believe Spence to be a
class above Pacquaio, as the Filipino's explosiveness begins to wane with age. And Roach, who has been 'Pac-Man's' trainer for most of his career in the United States,
believes his fighter should venture back down in weight for a bout with Garcia, who jumped up in weight to fight Spence. "There are a couple of fights being talked about for
Manny," he told Express Sport. "I would like Manny to take the Mikey Garcia fight. "He seems to want to go with a welterweight though, the bigger guys." Roach was quick
to point out, however, that his fighter's age was becoming a discerning factor in bout choices Pacquaio's camp have to make. "He's getting older Manny so everything gets
a little bit harder and we have to think a bit more," he added. "We have to be careful with who we put him in the ring with." Pacquaio is reportedly also in talks to have a
welterweight showdown with Keith Thurman, who is the WBA 147 lbs champ.
