Hamilton and Rosberg, who rose through the motor racing ranks together as children, spent four years as team-mates at Mercedes. After a harmonious beginning, the relationship turned sour in
their final year in 2016 as they collided with each other in Spain and touched again in Austria leading the team principal Toto Wolff to reprimand the pair. Rosberg decided to retire at the
end of that season having won a maiden world championship and Hamilton regained the title this year. But when asked about his time with Rosberg, Hamilton gave the German little credit. He
told CNN: “No. Zero. "From all my teammates that I’ve raced with, I don’t generally take much from them. “I’d say probably the only teammate I’ve ever really learned something from
would have been Fernando [Alonso] — it was my first year in F1. “After that, I would say I was able to have the experience, so I never felt I was taking anything from another driver. “I was
just always trying to enhance and unlock my own abilities.”
