Uriah Hall has issued a statement following the cancellation of his UFC 249 clash with Ronaldo Souza. The Ultimate Fighter season 17 runner-up was scheduled to face 'Jacare' on the
prelim portion of the UFC's fourth pay-per-view card of the year. Hall's clash with Souza, however, was scrapped early on Saturday morning after it emerged the Brazilian and his
two cornermen tested positive for coronavirus. Souza informed the UFC on Wednesday he'd been in contact with a family member who'd contracted the virus and was placed into
isolation. And after his swab test came back positive for COVID-19, the UFC immediately removed him from the card. Hall was bitterly disappointed at the cancellation of the fight but is
thankful it didn't go ahead. JUST IN: UFC ISSUE STATEMENT JACARE SOUZA'S POSITIVE CORONAVIRUS TEST "It’s so easy to get lost on what we want...forgetting to see what we
already have that can’t be replaced ... life. "I hope my opponent and his family recovers from this I can’t imagine what they are going through. The show goes on good luck to the rest
of the fighters." Hall proceeded that statement by sending a heartfelt message to Souza, who is understood to have returned home to Orlando. "@JacareMMA Brother I know it sucks
I’m sorry you have to go through this I am beyond devastated for the missed opportunity. "I wish you nothing but recovery for you and your family." The UFC administered additional
tests to the remaining 22 fighters on the card after learning of Souza's diagnosis, all of which came back negative. UFC 249 will take place behind closed doors at the VyStar Veterans
Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida in the early hours of Sunday morning. The card will be headlined by an interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.
