Port Tampa Bay, Evergreen, Rand Logistics, American Airlines Cargo, Regions Bank, A&R Logistics and Los Angeles Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders Association. Port Tampa Bay
has welcomed MARK “CLAY” CLAYTON HOLLIS III as its new chief of staff. Hollis (pictured above left) most recently served as the external affairs director for former Florida Commissioner
of Agriculture Adam Putnam and previously as senior legislative assistant to Florida Rep. Tom Rooney. As the chief of staff, he will be responsible for coordinating the operations of the
president/CEO’s office as well as assisting the port’s executive team in the management of public affairs with Hillsborough County, the city of Tampa and the state of Florida. He also will
serve as a liaison to the governor and state executive branch. Hollis replaces Jamal Sowell, who was tapped by Gov. Ron DeSantis to lead the economic development agency Enterprise
Florida. JEFFREY CHANG has been appointed president of Evergreen Shipping Agency (America) Corp., the North American general agent for Evergreen Line. Chang began his career in
Evergreen’s sales department in Taiwan in 1987. He advanced through roles within Evergreen agencies in Germany, Poland and Belgium before returning to Taiwan in 2002, where he held various
executive positions. He was executive vice president of Evergreen’s Shenzhen, China, office from 2005 to 2008 and president of Evergreen Shanghai from 2013 to 2016. He most recently was
chairman of Evergreen Marine (U.K.) Limited. Rand Logistics Inc., a provider of bulk freight shipping and ship repair services throughout the Great Lakes region, has hired J.D. KERN as
vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Rand Logistics, Kern spent four years at FlexiVan Inc. as its vice president and CFO. Other previous positions include
controller at Archive Systems; corporate controller at Amber Road; and stints at PTC Therapeutics, Sara Lee Corp. and Deloitte & Touche LLP. American Airlines Cargo has announced the
promotions of LORRAINE CHIN, BRIAN COOLEY and RICH BURKHARDT. Chin has been named general manager of cargo operations at Los Angeles International Airport. She previously oversaw ramp
operations at LAX. Cooley has been promoted to general manager of cargo operations at Philadelphia International Airport. He most recently served as the cargo duty manager at John F.
Kennedy International Airport. Burkhardt (pictured top center) will be assuming the role of senior manager of cargo filed and mail operations. He had served as general manager of cargo
operations at JFK. American Airlines Cargo also has hired TIM PALIGANOFF (pictured top right) as the director of customer experience and CHRIS ISAAC as director of revenue management.
JUAN A. CAZORLA has been appointed head of Regions Bank’s transportation and logistics specialized industry group. He leads the group from the company’s Charlotte, N.C., office. Under his
leadership, the group will continue to serve a wide array of companies and institutions in the logistics, maritime, rail, trucking, leasing and waste management sectors. Cazorla joined
Regions in 2013 as a managing director in the corporate banking group. He has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including 18 years at Bank of America in debt capital
markets. North American dry bulk carrier A&R Logistics, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., has appointed GREG SMITH as the vice president of import/export services. A&R launched
its export packaging and warehousing business for plastic resin in 2018. Smith has spent more than 25 years in the plastics industry, including the warehousing and packing of plastic resin
for export. He also spent several years with A&R early in his career. The Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association Board of Directors has installed its newest
members and elected its 2019 officers. KAREN QUINTANA of Yusen Logistics America was elected president. Vice president is MAURINE CECIL of Western Overseas Corp. Other officers are
