A Sainsburys-banned prolific thief is back behind bars for THIRTY-EIGHT further offences. Darren Goulding, 42, has been sent to prison for 15 months after admitting the long list of crimes.

Middlesbrough's Neighbourhood Policing Team officers had charged him with: * 18 shops thefts, * 18 breaches of a criminal behaviour order * common assault * criminal damage Goulding

broke his criminal behaviour order by going in to Sainsburys on Acklam Road, in Middlesbrough, on May 3. He had stolen cleaning products and meat from the shop two days earlier. Goulding was

caught stealing £150 of health and beauty products from the Co-Op on The Oval in Acklam, on April 29. He is also banned from the shop, by the order previously made at Teesside

Magistrates' Court. The professional shoplifter went on a crime spree on May 5, stealing: £95 worth of laundry products from Sainsburys; £50 worth of meat and laundry products from EG

Garages on Acklam Road; and £100 of ham and bacon back at Sainsburys on Acklam Road. He was violent and abusive to a member staff and refused to leave when he was told to. Goulding, of no

fixed address, is now starting a 15-month prison term. After sentencing at Teesside Crown Court, Neighbourhood Inspector Darren Birkett, from Cleveland Police, said: “Criminal Behaviour

Orders are put in place for a reason, to prevent behaviours which intimidate and threaten law-abiding members of the public. "Breaches of these orders are taken seriously, and we will

put those who ignore these orders before the courts to answer for their unacceptable behaviour. Goulding is now behind bars, where he cannot commit further offences and hopefully this

provides some reassurance to our local communities." FOR DAILY NEWS FROM TEESSIDE'S COURTS DIRECT TO YOUR INBOX, GO HERE TO SIGN UP TO OUR FREE COURT NEWSLETTER JOIN TEESSIDE
