You must pay fees to apply for approval of a team to collect and process bovine embryos and to get teams and premises inspected. FEES FOR APPROVAL OR REAPPROVAL You must pay for application
assessments whether your application is approved or not. You must pay £38 (increasing to £47 on 1 July 2024) to apply for: * approval of a bovine embryo transfer team (domestic, or for
trading to a Member State or on farm store) * approval of a bovine embryo collection or production team, with or without a laboratory inspection Fees are £13 (increasing to £16 on 1 July
2024) for: * re-approval of a laboratory or store (following alterations) * approval of an additional embryo team’s store or laboratory (less than 8km from another store or laboratory
visited on the same day) Fees are £34 (increasing to £42 on 1 July 2024) for approval of an additional embryo team’s store or laboratory more than 8km from another store or laboratory
visited. FEES FOR INSPECTIONS You must pay £23 (increasing to £28 on 1 July 2024) for routine inspections of teams and premises. If you have additional teams, laboratory or stores, you must
pay £6 (increasing to £7 on 1 July 2024) for each additional routine inspection. HOW APHA CHARGE FOR TIME SPENT You must pay £22 per quarter hour or less for APHA’s time spent. Fees for time
spent are in addition to fixed fees for each service. APHA calculates your inspection, approval and travel fees to the next full quarter hour of work. For example, if APHA spends 20 minutes
on your inspection, you will pay for half an hour. HOW APHA CALCULATES TRAVEL TIME The fee amount for travel time is calculated based on the distance from the nearest APHA office to each
inspection site. If an inspector carries out inspections at multiple sites nearby on the same day, the fee for each is calculated from the nearest APHA office to each individual inspection
site. Travel time is capped at 45 minutes each way, so you will not pay more than £132 for travel costs. EXAMPLE FEE CALCULATION Approval of a single bovine embryo collection team with
inspection of one laboratory, if the veterinary work took 1.5 hours: £38 fixed fee + £22 x 6 = £170 plus travel time fee. FEES FOR EXTRA LABORATORY TESTING You must pay extra fees for any
tests needed following an inspection. The laboratory will charge you separately. Back to top
