Safeguarding Directions. Some limited safeguarding is retained at the boundary of 2a and Phase 1, to protect land required for a redesigned Handsacre Junction (where HS2 connects to the West

Coast Main Line). This has required a new Direction to be laid alongside the WMS. All previous iterations of the associated Phase 2a safeguarding and Phase 2a property schemes plans have
