California State University faculty members overwhelmingly voted to approve a four-year contract, covering 20,000 members on 19 campuses. The agreement, which the Cal State University board
is expected to ratify, provides a nearly 7% across-the-board wage increase for the coming year, life insurance and vision care benefits. It also sets aside $1 million to pay replacements for
professors on sabbatical leave. The contract was reached after 20 months of negotiation between the state college system and the California Faculty Assn. The proposed pay hike is subject to
