Six members of Operation Rescue were arrested Saturday in La Mesa, cited for trespassing at a health clinic that performs abortions. The arrests occurred at one of several anti-abortion
demonstrations held throughout Southern California. In Los Angeles, about 60 Operation Rescue pickets were met outside a Sunset Boulevard health clinic by about 40 pro-choice demonstrators.
Los Angeles police said both demonstrators were peaceful. Saturday’s picketing was held in conjunction with Operation Rescue’s conference this weekend in Washington, said Sharon Messiak,
