The South Bay will be well represented when the Carson Grand Finale summer basketball tournament starts today at Carson High. Seven area high schools are included in the 16-team field. They
are Bishop Montgomery, Carson, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Morningside, Rolling Hills and St. Bernard. The field also includes recently crowned L.A. Games champion Fremont and runner-up Long Beach
Jordan. They will meet in the first round of pool play at 7:45 tonight. All games are at Carson High, where pool play will continue through Saturday. The final will be played Sunday. Other
entries include Southeast High of Chicago and Santa Clara of Oxnard, the two-time defending state Division VI champion. The winners of each of the four pools will advance to the semifinals
at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Sunday. The final is scheduled for 4:30. Following is a list of pools and first-round games: Pool A--Fremont, Morse (San Diego), Long Beach Jordan, Inglewood.
Pool B--Long Beach Poly, Dominguez, St. Bernard, Southeast (Chicago). Pool C--Carson, Oceanside (San Diego), Rolling Hills, Hawthorne. Pool D--Morningside, Santa Clara, Tustin, Bishop
