The Ventura County Professional Firefighters Assn. has endorsed Thousand Oaks attorney Trudi Loh for the upcoming City Council special election. The firefighters endorsed Loh when she ran
for county supervisor last fall, a race she narrowly lost to Frank Schillo. “I was very honored to have their endorsement and support once again,” Loh said. “I think this time it means even
more to me. So many of the firefighters in the association live in this community . . . this is doubly appreciated.” Last fall, the firefighters association endorsed Mike Markey in his
unsuccessful bid for a seat on the Thousand Oaks City Council. Markey and Loh are among six candidates running for the council seat in the June special election. But after interviewing
candidates, the association announced Tuesday it planned to back Loh in her run for the fifth council seat, left vacant by Schillo’s election to the Board of Supervisors. “She was the best
qualified candidate,” association President Ken Maffel said. “She just has this ability to take a problem and analyze it and come up with a solution. We like that.” MORE TO READ
