Las Fiestas Patrias, or Mexican Independence Day celebration, will be held Saturday and Sunday at College Park in Oxnard. The festival will feature Mexican cuisine, carnival rides, arts and
crafts, and entertainment on two stages. This year’s featured performers, La Sonora Dinamita, a Colombian band with several hits on the international charts, will sing Sunday. Other groups
playing this weekend are Grupo Zarko, Grupo Inovacion and La Banda Guadalajara. There will be performances by Ballet Folklorico as well. Admission to the festival, which runs from 11 a.m.
until 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, is $4 for adults; $3 for senior citizens, disabled residents and children between ages 6 and 12, and free for children under 5. For more
