To mark the opening of its new facility in Beverly Hills, Sotheby’s will hold a wine auction Saturday, its first in California.

Wines from California, Bordeaux and Burgundy are among the 1,000 lots, and prices will range from $200 to $20,000 per lot.

A first for California will be three Nebuchadnezzars (each holds the equivalent of 20 standard size bottles of wine) of 1975, 1985 and 1989 Cha^teau Mouton-Rothschild, directly from the

estate’s cellars. Imperials of 1990 and 1986 Opus One also will be offered. Vintage 1982 Bordeaux on auction include Cha^teau Cheval Blanc and Cha^teau Margaux. Cha^teau d’Yquem from 1967

puts in an appearance too.

A pre-sale tasting--for bidders only--presided over by Serena Sutcliffe, Master of Wine and head of Sotheby’s International Wine Department, takes place Friday at 6:30 p.m.
