Detectives investigating how a woman came to be critically injured in a Leicester street are asking for more witnesses to come forward a week on from the incident. The woman, who is in her
30s, remains in hospital in a critical condition. Officers received a report at 2.54pm last Sunday (June 1) of a woman found in Corporation Road, near Leicester's National Space Centre.
The woman had reportedly been riding an e-bike in the moments before she was injured, but the bike was not at the scene when police arrived. Leicestershire Police said yesterday (Sunday,
June 8) that "extensive inquiries" had been carried out by officers, including a CCTV trawl and speaking to a "significant number" of witnesses. Officers said that they
know there were more people who might have seen what happened, and are urging them to come forward. READ MORE: Woman with knife in bag slapped man who made sexual advances Detective Sergeant
Adrian Davies, from the force's Complex Crime Unit said: “We have spoken to lots of witnesses in our inquiries this week, but we know there are more people out there who may have seen
what’s happened – it was a very busy Sunday afternoon in a busy area of the city. Any tiny piece of information, no matter how small, may prove crucial to our investigation." He added:
"There is a critically ill woman still in hospital following this incident and we have to find out what has happened to her." Two 18-year-old men were arrested last week in
connection with the incident and have been released on police bail while inquiries continue. One man was arrested on suspicion of robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and theft of a motor
vehicle, with the theft offence relating to a moped allegedly stolen from the New Parks area on Wednesday (May 28). The second was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and
robbery. Anyone with information should call Leicestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 391 of June 1. Alternatively, report information on the force's website. SPOTTED A
