A COUPLE WERE LEFT IN DISBELIEF AS BIDDERS 'WENT MAD' OVER THEIR ORDINARY ITEM DAN TAYLOR and JENNIE BUZAGLO 16:02, 03 Jun 2025 Bargain Hunt's blue team was left astonished as

their cast iron toilet roll holder caused an unexpected frenzy at the auction. On Sunday's (June 1) edition of the BBC show, married couple Joe and Mhari were up against the keen red

team consisting of mates Brad and Max. After scouring car boot sales and antique markets with expert John Cameron, Joe and Mhari selected three pieces they fancied. Their hunt included a

quest for an equestrian-themed item, which coincided with their most expensive purchase. But their morale dropped when a novelty clock they picked went for half its expected price. Against

all odds, their metal toilet roll dispenser became the star of the show. As expert Raj Bisram opened the bidding at just £8, the couple were gobsmacked to see their £15 outlay spark a flurry

of bids. The hammer finally fell at £32, securing Mhari and Joe a cool £17 profit, prompting Joe to quip to his wife: "You're joking! They've gone mad." Article

related to food or drink and eventually settled on a small barrel, snapping it up for £27. Brad and Max then stumbled upon an 18th century wine bottle, which set them back a hefty £140,

marking their big spend. They splashed out on their final item, securing a vibrant orange designer chair for £118. The red team got off to a flying start, with their barrel raking in a £28

profit after being sold for £50. Their subsequent item resulted in a loss of £10, leaving everything hanging on the sale of the orange chair. Article continues below However, the pair were

left disheartened when it only fetched £70, leading to a loss of £48. In a last-ditch effort to turn a profit, Brad and Max took up Stephanie Connell's £15 bonus buy offer of three gold

heaters for different types of alcohol. The item was sold for £35, bringing the team's overall total to a loss of £10. This meant that Joe and Mhari clinched victory over the red team

with a modest profit of £19.
