THE RIDE HAS BEEN A PERMANENT FIXTURE EVER SINCE 2014 11:17, 03 Jun 2025 The beloved Postman Pat Parcel Post attraction at Alton Towers is set to close its doors for the last time today.

Erected with the advent of CBeebies Land, the ride bids farewell this Tuesday, June 3. Replacing the iconic ride will be a junior roller coaster that's being plotted out under the

working title Project Sunshine, in what Stoke-on-Trent Live reports is 'the end of an era'. An Alton Towers spokesperson made a statement regarding the change: "As we

continually look to refresh and enhance our guest offer, the Postman Pat Parcel Post ride will be closing in preparation for future development work at the resort. Our website has been

updated, notifying guests of the planned closure." Earlier this year Alton Towers unveiled a new ride with a video showing head-spinning drone footage. Thrill-seekers can experience the

extreme centrifugal forces of Toxicator from Saturday, March 15. Newly released drone footage shows theme park fans what to expect on every spin and flip of the new topspin ride. The sneak

peek shows never-before-seen views, giving guests a taste of the dizzying experience that awaits them. Article continues below Those brave enough to submit to the spin can do so from next

month when the ride officially opens. Guests can even experience the ride for the first time in the dark as part of the Alton After Dark event. The park says the topspin ride is the highest

of its kind, towering at 78ft thanks to its 16ft elevated platform. Positioned in Forbidden Valley, the ride is flanked by the ominous Nemesis Reborn, which was revamped last year after an

18-month transformation. Toxicator marks the next chapter for Forbidden Valley, offering thrill-seekers an unrivalled variety of high-intensity thrills. The only topspin ride in the world to

be elevated above ground level means spectators can watch the entire experience from underneath. Water fountains dramatically shoot up around the attraction, representing the chemical

solution formed from the Nemesis’ saliva. Bianca Sammut, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, said: “We’re excited to be giving fans a flavour of the truly ‘spincredible’ power of

Toxicator. “From the March 15 those brave enough to submit to the spin will be able to experience the latest that Forbidden Valley has to offer.” Article continues below The topspin ride

will allow more than 500 riders per hour. This double-sided version is one of only two in Europe, but riders will need to be at least 1.4 metres tall in order to gain access to the new

attraction. Total height will stand at over 78 feet tall; this is due to the ride being elevated on a 16-foot structure that guests walk underneath. To book tickets for Alton Towers Resort
