ROBERT SUGDEN COULD SEE HIS SON SEBASTIAN AS HIS FUTURE IN THE DALES CREATES MORE CHAOS 11:41, 04 Jun 2025 Emmerdale fans have predicted that Robert Sugden could face a custody battle with

Ross Barton as his biological son Sebastian could return. Actor Ryan Hawley originally joined the ITV soap in 2014 to become the most recent star to take on the role of Robert Sugden. He

doesn't have much family left in the Dales apart from half-sister Victoria Sugden and now half-brother John Sugden. Robert left the show back in 2019 after being sent to prison over the

death of Lee Posner. He accidentally caused Lee's death after he attacked him, following Lee horrifically raping his sister Victoria. Robert faced up to his crime and cut all ties with

the village and his loved ones as he was sentenced. However, as his ex-husband Aaron Dingle was ready to tie the knot with John, Robert unexpectedly arrived at the ceremony in an attempt to

stop the wedding. Everyone was in shock as he was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but he later told Aaron: "You already know that Lee got into a fight with his brother and hit his

head on the day that I attacked him. If that hadn't happened, he might not have died when I did what I did." Article continues below Aaron was upset as he expressed that Victoria

tried telling him this previously so that he could appeal, to which Robert responded: "A few years locked in a cell with only my thoughts for company, I kind of changed my mind. Took a

while, but here I am. Sentence released on appeal". However, he missed his parole appointment to see Aaron and so was put back in prison. Even though the former couple momentarily

rekindled their flame in a passionate kiss, Aaron decided to still go ahead and marry John - unaware of his true colours. Actor Ryan did confirm that it's more than a brief stint as he

teased: "Robert's back. He's coming back to try and win Aaron back, he's going to (try) put a stop to John." With Robert's future in the village on the horizon,

some fans are convinced that his son Sebastian White will also return to the village. Robert fathered Sebastian after a one-night stand wit Rebecca White as he cheated on Aaron. Rebecca

gave birth in 2017, but Robert struggled to adjust to being a father. After snatching Seb to stop him from moving away to Australia, Robert was chased by Rebecca who got hit by a lorry and

suffered brain damage as a result. When realising she was struggling to care for her son with the injury, she gave Aaron and Robert a chance to look after him instead. As she entered a

relationship with Ross Barton, he became another father figure to Seb, and they eventually moved away to Liverpool in 2018. However, Seb returned to the village a few times to see Aaron, but

Rebecca put a stop to this as he kept asking questions about where Robert could be. When Ross returned to the village alone last year, he revealed that Rebecca had sadly died and Seb was

living with her aunt in Bristol. On a Reddit thread, u/OddCalligrapher8132 asked: "With Robert returning on a permanent basis. Do you think at some point we will see his son Seb back in

the village too?" u/Mytearsricochet2 replied: "Oh 100% I think that’s why they mentioned him and why they killed off Rebecca so we could have an storyline of Robert going for

custody and the drama that causes with Ross." Article continues below As u/pearshaped34 added: "I'd assume at some point yes, as there was no real point in killing Rebecca

off-screen if they don't intend to bring Seb back. Plus lots of potential drama there as Robert is his dad, Aaron loved him like he was his own and presumably Seb won't remember

either of them but will remember and love Ross who was involved in raising him beyond his baby years, which probably will be hard for Robert." EMMERDALE AIRS ON WEEKDAYS AT 7:30PM ON

ITV1 AND IS AVAILABLE TO STREAM ON ITVX.
