Country buyer made a 'very sad' announcement about her 'dream' move after having a sudden change of heart. In an episode of the BBC property show which aired on Friday (May 30), host Briony

May Williams helped a mother in her quest to find her perfect country home in either Somerset or Dorset.

Debra, a freelance writer who had spent 35 years living in Putney, South West London, aspired to relocate to the countryside, with her daughter Belle joining her in the search.

‌ With a budget of £350,000, Debra was looking for a detached house with at least two bedrooms and plenty of character.

‌ A pleasant garden, proximity to a village edge, and walking distance to a shop and pub were also on her wish list, reports Somerset Live.

Briony showed the mum and her daughter around several properties, but it was a mystery house that truly captivated them.

country kitchen, and an enclosed cottage garden.

Upon learning the property's asking price was more than £300,000, Debra was astonished, seemingly having found her dream home.

Yet, in a surprising twist, Debra admitted she wasn't ready to leave urban living, confessing the move was "too big of a leap".

‌ Her daughter also suggesting that transitioning to country life would require "stepping stones".

Debra went on: "Having been to Crewkerne and seen that it's utterly charming and beautiful but it's awake, it's very, very sociable and you can walk everywhere but I think I probably might

need that more as a stepping stone from London."

She concluded: "I've learnt so much now about what I need to make me happy when I move."
