with Beyoncé’s mum.
It was a busy evening for Alex Jones and Clara Amfo, who was presenting for the first time this week after Roman Kemp hosted Monday’s (June 2) episode.
Joining Alex and Clara on the BBC programme’s sofa on Tuesday (June 3) was Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed, Lord of the Rings’ Orlando Bloom and former This Morning host Fern Britton.
After talking with Nick and Orlando about their new Amazon Prime movie Deep Cover, which releases later in the month, it was time for the most surprising guest of the evening.
Tina Knowles, the mum of American pop icons Beyoncé and Solange, sat down to talk about her new memoir Matriarch.
Released last month, and already becoming a New York Times bestseller, Tina provided an insight into how Matriarch came to be.

“We are in a time where there are so many rumours, I just want to set the record straight on so many things,” she said.
Asked about her daughters’ work ethic, Tina said: “I don’t know how they do it, I’ve been on a book tour and when I’m tired and over it, I still have to go to work. I don’t envy that and
it’s been eye-opening for me.”
Those watching the interview at home were distracted by Tina not being interviewed alongside the night’s other guests, with the interview taking place in a separate room.
Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, viewers speculated why this may have been and admitted they confused Tina with a famous singer.
@sdfpk said: “I wonder if guests negotiate specially to be interviewed in this separate space, away from the riffraff on the main sofa.” @demelcy added: “Tina gets her own sofa #theoneshow.”
@tctantan commented: “Why wasn't she sat on the sofa with the guests? #TheOneShow.” @miss_traceydav posted: “Nice interview with Tina Knowles on the One Show - I knew the origin of the
Beyonce being her surname and the story behind it from Cowboy Carter.”
