to be revealed as the city in which she’s lived for the past four years.
Cara Piper, from Derry, Northern Ireland, decided to avail of the cheap lottery deal with dreams of a weekend break to New York City or "anywhere but the UK", as she put it.
The 23-year-old, who has been studying education at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh for the past four years, received an email from Wowcher days later with news of her destination.
Cara decided to film herself opening the email on TikTok, and her shock was visible when she reedemed the voucher to find the word 'Edinburgh' appearing on her iPad screen.
In the clip, she can be heard shouting "no" as she discovers that she has paid money to visit the city she is already in.

think. I literally live here. I actually can’t believe that.
"I was saying if we got somewhere in the UK I’d be fuming. I’m going to see if I can change it."
The video racked up over 168k views on TikTok, with close to one hundred people leaving comments.
Morgan McSherry wrote: "I’m not joking, as soon as you said Wowcher I was like 'they’re either getting Belfast or Edinburgh'."
Another user by the name of Claire Ferguson added: "I honestly would have ended it right at that minute. Devastated for you."
"This is heartbreaking," commented Keisha Deane, while another user posted: "No, literally, out of everything I would be fuming. Bless you."

set price (e.g., £99 per person) and don't discover the destination until after you've booked and redeemed your voucher.
The deal includes return flights and accommodation at various locations, potentially worldwide, according to Wowcher.
Ads on the website show postcard photos of Florida, New York, Vietnam and Bali, as well as snapshots of city breaks such as Berlin and Copenhagen.

holiday lotto ticket.
Travelling to the aforementioned destinations – plus short-haul beach hubs including Crete, Malta, Sicily, Tenerife and Ibiza – will set you back £99, if you travel in low season.
That’s from January to March, in May, or from September to December.

per booking.
The deal includes a two to seven-night stay (depending on the destination) in three-star accommodation, in a private room with an ensuite.
