MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS AS RUBEN AMORIM'S PURSUIT OF BRYAN MBEUMO COULD BE HELPED BY THE WORDS OF A FORMER UNITED PLAYER 10:38, 31 May 2025Updated 11:18, 31 May 2025 Manchester

United's hopes of landing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo this summer could be reinforced thanks to the help of a former player. The forward has been linked with a big-money move to United

and Newcastle after scoring 20 Premier League goals this season. United boss Ruben Amorim is desperate for attacking reinforcements this summer. Matheus Cunha is expected to join from Wolves

and a new striker is now the priority ahead of the transfer window opening. Mbeumo has been another attacker linked with a move to Old Trafford and after only being outscored by Mohamed

Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland, the Cameroon international has been tipped to leave Brentford. Thomas Frank has confirmed that the Londoners will attempt to command the biggest

possible fee for Mbeumo after losing Ivan Toney last year. "It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount," the Bees boss told Tipsbladet. "It is a

lot. Mucho. "Really a lot. Then it is clear that it is impossible to replace him one for one. It cannot be done. There is a reason why he costs x number of million pounds, and we do not

have x number of millions pounds to buy for. I would say that I would be surprised if a lot of big clubs don't look at him. "I would be surprised with what he has to offer. How

many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player."

Article continues below United are set to rival Newcastle United for the 25-year-old with the Magpies planning for their return to the Champions League. It's believed Brentford have

slapped a £50million price tag on the forward but that fee could increase slightly with a bidding war. Fortunately for United, they have a secret weapon in convincing Mbeumo to move to

Manchester. Sergio Reguilon and Mbeumo remain good friends after their short time together in London, the former spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at the club, before he

moved to United. On Friday, the left-back posted an Instagram story of him and Mbeumo posing together at the French Open. "Happy to see you hermanito *red love heart emoji*," the

caption read. Reguilon moved to Old Trafford on loan for the first half of last season before returning to Tottenham in January. He played just 12 games but it didn't stop Reguilon from

having nothing but good things to say about the club, words that could appeal to Mbeumo. "It has been great to play for Manchester United and I just want to say thank you to the club,

the fans and my teammates," he said. "It was a privilege to play for this huge club. I wish all the best for the Red Devils." Mbeumo could even be reunited with Reguilon with

reports stating that United could sign the Spaniard this summer. He has been released by Tottenham following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season and United could bring him in to bolster

Amorim's wing-back options. GET UNITED TRANSFER NEWS AND UPDATES ON WHATSAPP! Our team of Manchester United experts are on top of all the goings-on at Old Trafford for this week and
