THE FILM, RELEASED IN 2024, STARS A FAMOUS FORMER CHILD ACTOR 10:51, 10 Feb 2025 Netflix has just dropped a 'must-watch' action thriller that's being hailed as 'a modern
Die Hard'. The fresh 2024 sensation, Aftermath, has made its way onto the streaming giant's roster as of today (February 10), featuring ex-child prodigy Dylan Sprouse. Known for
his appearances on the sitcom Friends and Disney Channel classic The Suite Life of Zack and Cody with twin brother Cole, Sprouse takes the lead in this intense flick. Guided by director
Patrick Lussier, recognised for horror entries like Play Dead and Trick, not to mention his writing credits on Terminator Genysis, Aftermath sees Sprouse playing a battle-scarred war vet
who, alongside his teenage sister, is caught in a siege on Boston's Tobin Memorial Bridge, carried out by an armed-to-the-teeth band of rogue soldiers. Fans are drawing parallels to the
adrenaline-fuelled escapades seen in Die Hard and the staple 90s blockbusters headlined by Sylvester Stallone. While critics haven't yet rendered a consensus critical score on Rotten
Tomatoes, online buzz is already mounting. One viewer who's already viewed the movie gushed: "Dylan Sprouse. OMG! HE WAS AWESOME. This is a must see movie. Love it." Someone
else shared their two cents, revealing: "A decent action thriller although not quite an original movie. The acting for the most part, especially from the main protagonist and the
antagonist keeps it going nicely and 95% of the action scenes are decent. My favourite being the finale hand to hand combat, very real and well thought out and executed choreography",
reports Surrey Live. Article continues below They went on to praise its style, adding: "This would be like a modern Die Hard movie, gladly not too modernised such as with technology. A
very simple premise as well. It was certainly good enough for me to search other movies staring Dylan Sprouse." Whilst the flick has faced its share of scrutiny, with some slating the
'nonsensical' plot of armed men hijacking a bridge and others probing its shoestring budget, there's no shortage of voices hailing it as a solid 'popcorn flick. Critics
suggest it's spot on for those looking to unwind. One viewer defended the film against negative critiques, saying: "All the reviews slating this movie are a bit harsh. When you
watch this movie you don't have to think too deeply. It's just a bit of fun action movie in the Die Hard genre with a Ryan Reynolds lookalike actor as the good guy. "Ok there
is not much time spent to get to know the characters but if you get past this and just enjoy the tongue in cheek action you can't go far wrong with an evening entertainment. It's
reminiscent of a John Woo movie with action virtually from start to finish. I've given it seven stars which is probably a bit generous but I went away with a good feeling I'd been
entertained and after all that's what an action film is all about." Another chimed in with their take: "Maybe it is old fashioned using a storyline similar to Die Hard. Well
at least Dylan Sprouse is better looking than Bruce Willis. As for the story is making sense or not, it's a popcorn movie, what do you expect? If you want something realistic, just
watch National geographic! I can guarantee you, the story makes more sense than any one of the Marvel movies." Article continues below _AFTERMATH IS STREAMING ON NETFLIX._
